The course covers the development of methodology used in the field of musicology, ethnomusicology, composition and education research. Course works allow practice for each methodological approach.

This course aims to provide students with experience in research and academic writing. At the beginning of this course, students are asked to prepare a research proposal with the guidance of prospective supervisors. The proposal was then presented in an effort to ensure that the title of the study selected and the quality of the paper complied with the standards set by the Center. Once the proposal is approved, the students will be placed under the supervision of the lecturer and they will receive the supervisor's guidance for further work. In the second part of the course, students are asked to conduct field studies in the identified study area to collect data and research information. Upon returning from fieldwork, students are asked to process and analyze the data and information obtained. At the end of the course, students are asked to write the results of the study they have found in the thesis. Once the thesis is completed, it should be bound and send to the Center for examination.
