Master of Performing Arts (Drama) places strong emphasis on exploring the role of drama and theatre in society. The programme will provide you with an understanding of practice and research, within a wider professional context. We offer courses in cross-cultural theory and histories of theatre and performance, conceptual and applied models of dramaturgy, drama education and philosophy, studies on art management and theatre criticism.
Courses in our programme are designed to help you extend your artistic practice, sharpen your critical thinking skills and learn to contextualise your interests culturally and historically. Students graduate with a deeper knowledge of theatre theory, history and practice and be able to apply critical thinking through research and creative work. In addition, we also encourage students to develop advanced skills for creating independent work and building creative, socially-engaged and culturally-inclusive communities.
